Welcome to the Sondex Beta!

Sondex is an advanced weather analysis tool designed for meteorologists, storm chasers, and weather enthusiasts. The app specializes in visualizing and analyzing atmospheric sounding data from BUFKIT files, providing powerful interactive charts and detailed meteorological insights.

Key Features to Test:

File Importing: Import .buf files from your device or directly from a URL. Verify that files are parsed correctly and metadata (station, model, run time) is accurate.

Library Management: Your imported soundings are automatically organized by station. Please test the search, sorting, and filtering functionalities. You can also favorite stations.

Interactive Charts: The core of the app. Please test all chart types for accuracy and performance:

• Skew-T Log-P
• Hodograph
• Time-Height Section
• Moisture Potential
• Apparent Temperature

Data Analysis: When viewing a chart, tap the info button to see the “Atmospheric Story” and key indices like CAPE, CIN, and SRH. Verify these values feel correct.

Map View: Explore sounding stations on the map. Test the filtering for ASOS, NWS, and Favorites, as well as the clustering of annotations when zooming out.

Known Issues:

• Performance may vary when loading a file with a very large number of time steps.
• UI polish and chart styling are ongoing.
